Top Tips for designing a kids' bedroom

Designing a kid’s room for a Show Home is always a great chance to be creative with colour and product choice. We want these spaces to feel individual and playful!

SPECIAL FEATURES

Adding a child's chair and table gives space to play and be creative.

We also love to try and fit in a little reading nook with a selection of books to make a bedroom feel especially cosy and inviting.

COLOURS & GRAPHICS

We often choose bright colours and complementary monochrome graphic prints like these from Desenio

or soft pastels and more flowing lines to help create a space which feels both fun and thoughtful.

LIGHTING

Quirky lighting is something we can make a feature of in our childrens' rooms and they often help to subtly enhance a theme. We try to include a variety of lighting sources so ceiling lights, wall lights, floor and bedside lamps, along with decorative string lights all add to the atmosphere.

FURNITURE

Clever furniture solutions for smaller spaces can sometimes be necessary and we love the modular furniture from European brands such as Nidi. How great is this colourful and compact shelving, bed and desk?!

TEXTILES

We make creative use of stickers, bunting, fairy lights, storage baskets and floating shelves and organic shapes.
